Cleaning Instructions

Honeycomb shades are crafted from advanced, anti-static, and dust-resistant fabrics designed to repel dirt and dust, keeping them cleaner for longer durations. For effective maintenance, consider the following cleaning options:

1. Dusting

Employ a feather duster or a soft microfiber cloth for regular light dusting. This method is often adequate for routine maintenance.

2. Vacuuming

Utilize a handheld vacuum cleaner equipped with low suction settings to thoroughly remove accumulated dust from the shades. This method ensures a deeper clean without causing damage to the fabric.

3. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (Our Favorite Method)

At A Shade Above, we rely on a melamine sponge, such as a Mr. Clean® Magic Eraser for spot cleaning most window treatments. Carefully dampen a sponge at blot the affected area.

Thin, glass-like fibers dig into microscopic pores where dirt and stains accumulate, making it a perfect solution to remove spots from most cellular shade fabrics.

Ultrasonic Cleaning

Standard shades, except those made with Blackout Lining can be ultrasonically cleaned by a professional.

  • Specify that a mild detergent be used.
  • Never immerse the headrail in the solution.
  • Dry the shade completely in the lowered position.

CAUTION: Do not ultrasonically clean Blackout fabrics. Do not immerse headrail.
