Chad Alexander
Senior Design Consultant
With over 25 years of experience in the window treatment industry, Chad Alexander has been a part of A Shade Above for more than 13 years. His journey began with hands-on work like sanding, painting, and framing Plantation Shutters, eventually leading him to his current role as a Design Consultant since 2010. After serving the Charlotte client base for 7 years, he relocated his family to North Myrtle Beach to lead our showroom operation. Chad also heads A Shade Above's Commercial division, handling large projects for builders and architects across the Carolinas.
Connie Hypes
Design Consultant
Connie extends a warm and friendly welcome to our North Myrtle Beach Showroom, reflecting her love for working with people and her belief that all clients are important. She is enthusiastic about helping clients select products that enhance their home's style. Connie understands that each project is unique and enjoys witnessing the entire journey from conception to completion. Her favorite product is Plantation Shutters for their classy, clean, modern, and stylish appeal.
Scott Earley
Installation Specialist
Scott is a tenacious and upbeat member of our North Myrtle Beach install team. His affinity for technology makes him a skilled installer and programmer of motorized shade systems. With a background in custom woodwork and cabinetry, Scott has a deep respect for the quality and craftsmanship of our locally made Plantation Shutters.

What began in 1993 as a small shutter manufacturing business has grown into Charlotte’s largest custom window fashions company. For nearly three decades, A Shade Above has been providing Charlotte and surrounding areas with the highest quality blinds, shades and plantation shutters. As a family owned business, we have ensured that promise has remained steadfast through the years.
Through economic downturn and unprecedented recovery, we stand with multiple showroom locations throughout the Carolinas and a mobile fleet of A Shade Above vehicles outfitting thousands of local homes with custom window treatments.
