A Shade Above is the Carolinas’ largest family-owned and operated window coverings company, and in 2023, we celebrated 30 years of excellence serving the Charlotte community. We have manufactured our own custom plantation shutters in Charlotte, NC, since 1993.

What began in 1993 as a small shutter manufacturing business has grown into Charlotte’s largest custom window fashions company. For nearly three decades, A Shade Above has been providing Charlotte and surrounding areas with the highest quality blinds, shades and plantation shutters. As a family owned business, we have ensured that promise has remained steadfast through the years.

Through economic downturn and unprecedented recovery, we stand with multiple showroom locations throughout the Carolinas and a mobile fleet of A Shade Above vehicles outfitting thousands of local homes with custom window treatments.
